Spurwink Services is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Education for Pre-School Services. This is an educational leadership position. The therapeutic pre-school program serves students, referred by Child Development Services (CDS), with a variety of presentations to include: co-occurring behavioral, emotional and developmental issues, and PDD/ Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Duties:
The Program Director supervises teachers, their paraprofessionals, and other support staff; helps develop and insure the quality of educational programming; and models good instruction, development of therapeutic relationships, and productive intervention including limit setting. The position provides the unique opportunity to have a direct role in the development and implementation of models that addresses the varied learning styles of all students. Familiarity with Part B of IDEA, including the IFSP process and rules and regulations of Special Education is required. Candidates must be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary treatment team. Program includes a summer component.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Special Education or related field required. Experience in early intervention to include supervision of staff required. LCSW or BCBA preferred.
