Certified Coder

Position Summary The Certified Coder will be responsible for the evaluating and assigning proper ICD-10 coding for admissions, recertifications and resumptions of care to maximize reimbursement.# The certified coder will provide education for clinicians as needed for proper ICD-10 coding. The certified coder must be knowledgeable regarding ICD-10 diagnosis coding mandates, exceptions, and practices. ##This position reports to the Quality Director.# Position can sit in either Portland, Saco or Rockland office. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) High School Graduate.# Two (2) #years# experience in home health, including one year of home healthcare; coding/quality improvement experience preferred.# Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D) required. Excellent communication and facilitation skills and ability to recognize and manage conflict.## Expert knowledge of homecare reimbursement methodology, including Medicare Prospective Payment System (PPS) and proposed pay for performance strategies required. Knowledge of medical terminology.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
